What do we treat?
Musculoskeletal
Musculoskeletal pain (pain affecting our muscles/bones/ligaments/tendons) is a common presenting complaint. Low back pain is the most prevalent of musculoskeletal conditions, affecting nearly everyone at some point in time and up to 33% of the population at any one time (WHO 2003). People with acute low-back pain usually experience improvements in pain and disability and return to work within one month. Further but smaller improvements occur up to three months, after which, pain and disability levels remain almost constant and most people will have at least one recurrence within 12 months (Pengel 2003)
At PhysioElite our Chartered Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist can treat the underlying cause of pain, but not only that, they will place a large emphasis on rehabilitation after your injury to;
· Regain strength needed for functional or particular activities
· Prevent re-occurrence of the same injury and improve movement performance
· Pain management techniques
PhysioElite also offers clinical pilates- a core strengthening class proven to decrease low back pain incidence. Our chartered physiotherapist will screen each individual before the class so the exercises shown to you will be specific to your needs.
