Pilates
Modified pilates is a series of exercises in various different body positions which have been adapted by physiotherapists to make them more suitable for patients with back and neck pain, and those recovering from injury. Evidence supports the use of the pilates method in the prevention and rehabilitation of back injuries. By retraining the deep abdominal and spinal muscles, pilates can help to prevent the recurrence of back pain in combination with correct back care and advice, and gentle aerobic activity.
Technique is everything in modified Pilates and our chartered physiotherapist Tricia will be on hand to ensure your movement is correct. If you're new to pilates, there's the option of a pre-assessment where deep core activation will be explained in detail and your specific weaknesses will be identified. The pilates classes are mixed ability but don't worry if you're a beginner! We take things nice and slow before cranking up each exercise.
This class is pay up front €60 for 6 weeks every Tuesday at 6pm.

Pilates for Runners / Sports
Pilates for Runners is a new course with a strong evidence base behind it. Our chartered physiotherapist Tricia trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). She is now bringing this method of pilates which is very much physiotherapy and rehab based, to a new level aimed at high level rehab and return to sport exercise.
This class incorporates strength, movement correction and flexibility and is perfect for those who want to add a stretching and toning component to their training that specifically targets typically injured areas in running and various sports.

Pilates Suspension Method
The Pilates Suspension Method combines traditional and contemporary mat Pilates and equipment based Pilates exercises and performs them on the TRX / suspension trainer. Each PSM exercise is rooted in the original Pilates exercises and should be familiar to those who have completed Pilates classes previously.
You don't need any previous Pilates experience to take part and the class is suitable for all levels of fitness.

TRX
Born in the Navy SEALs, TRX® Suspension Training® bodyweight exercise simultaneously develops strength, power, endurance, mobility, durability, balance, flexibility, and core stability. It uses both gravity and your bodyweight to test your fitness through a variety of exercises.

AgeWell
AgeWell is a strengthening and balance class for those over the age of 60. AgeWell is designed with exercise recommendations in mind to maintain the health and wellness in older adults.
The class includes weekly education sessions on healthy ageing along with a pre-and post-testing to maximise the benefits gained from the course!
It's €60 for a 6 week course and runs on Wednesdays at 9:30am

Private Bookings
The PhysioElite gym is also available for private bookings. If you or a group / team are interested in taking a class such as TRX, circuits etc., then Contact Us and we will arrange a time that suits you
